Champion Poplap black female Labrador Retriever from Amadeuze
ABOUT
Poplap was a black female Labrador, a lovely lady and a fine example of the Labrador breed. She was fun loving and her happiest moments was when running freely in the fields, chasing after a ball or retrieving from water! Although this black female Labrador was not very keen on showing, she was successfully made up as South African breed champion at the age of 2 years, and achieved 10th position in 2010 on the South African Show-dogs Leader board (Labradors). She had a lovely female head with kind expression, a thick shiny coat and moved well. She proved herself as a wonderful brood bitch and gave us 3 lovely litters of black and chocolate puppies during her lifespan.
Labrador Poplap was a real character to live with, one of a kind in many ways with her own peculiar little ways of doing things. She was an excellent mother to her Labrador puppies, and remained fond of Labrador pups until close to the end. When her daughter Ella had a litter of Labrador puppies a few months before her death, she got into the whelping box (next to Ella) to offer her specialized services to lick and clean up the puppies!
Sadly we lost this lovely female Labrador at a relative young age (shortly before her 7th birthday) with cancer. Fortunately we have many happy memories of Poplap which keeps her alive in our hearts.
Many thanks to Daniel Kritzinger (Dennegeur Kennels – Stellenbosch, South Africa) for doing this special breeding and letting me have her – we loved this Labrador dearly and will always be grateful for the privilege of having her. She made a huge impact on our Labrador kennel and she was the main reason for me to fall in love with showing our Labrador dogs!
